BTRS Half Iron Distance Triathlon – 26th July 2014

Hi guys, just a few pointers for the upcoming half iron distance triathlon Saturday 26th July 2014.

Q. Are there cut off times ?

A. There are no cut off times ( within reason, I want to go home before midnight)

Q. Can I do some of the triathlon, and leave out a section?

A. Absolutely 🙂 Come to the race with your wetsuit, bike, running shoes, and see how far you can go.

Q. What are the course details for the swim/Bike/Run ?

A. There are 2 pre race meetings, Thursday 24th July, 7:00pm, Prestige Cycles. George Street, Hove. Friday 25th July Carats Cafe, Basin Road, Shoreham 6:00pm. We will have an opportunity to discuss the course, timings, transition, and anything else that you might want to know for the big day.

Q. How much is the half iron Tri ?

A. In keeping with our Ethos, the BTRS Half Iron Triathlon is FREE, I’m looking at a sensible donation into the pot ( towards costs) other than that, the race, your food, medals and finishers goodie bags are all free.

Q. Where can I find details of the course ? Maps etc ?

A. If you look under the ‘Maps’ tab on this website, you will find ( somewhat tired) photos of the swim/bike/run course. Further, more specific details will be covered at the 2 pre race meetings next week.

Q. Can I enter the race as part of a relay team ?

A. Absolutely ! In fact we have had relay teams all the way through the last 3 and a half years of holding the BTRS Half Iron Traithlon. All relay teams receive a medal and finishers bag equal to the solo athletes. Relay teams are fighting it out against each other, with a relay half iron trophy up for grabs at the awards gala dinner later in the year. So don’t hang about !

I hope this helps, see everyone at the pre race meetings next Thursday and Friday.

Remember, this is also our BTRS Summer Party, a family day, with a nice marquee and BBQ going all day. You’re encouraged to invite your family along to support you during your race, but also to enjoy the food and gathering after your half iron PB 🙂

Best, as always
