Sunday’s Trail Run #1
Hi guys, a few details for sundays Trail Run #1
Please can we meet at 08:15am at the Upper Lodges Car Park, Stanmer Park, off Ditchling Road, 400 metres east of Coldean Lane/Ditchling Road intersection. Remember the clocks go back 1 hour on Saturday night.
Trail Run #1 is a hilly off road run, designed with a nice downhill start to help warm up the lungs and legs. A few course stats:-
Distance – 5.94 miles/9.50k
Ascent – 206 metres
Terrain – 95% off road, please wear trail shoes if you have them, good grip is important for the muddy climbs.
The course – Please don’t be bogged down with the route, Sunday’s run is an orientation, as will each of the initial 4 trails, then it’s full speed ahead !
If you’re not running at the moment, through injury, or otherwise, I would encourage you to mountain bike the course, this will give you 1 hour of fresh air, improve your knowledge of the the course for Trail#1, and of course improve your fitness.
Sundays run will be an orientation run, we can try to run as a group to learn the course, it’s not very difficult, a nice loop with a steady climb back to the finish line, once you know each of the 4 Trails, I’m expecting PB’s all the way through the Winter Trail Run Series
Remember to bring a plastic bag to put muddy kit in, and hoodie/joggers to wear afterwards to keep warm when you cross the finish line.
Im recording ALL RUN TIMES for the Winter Trail Running Series, to monitor improvement or slacking off ! A course PB wins you 5 extra points, a slower run time loses you 5 points! All of which will be added up and rewarded appropriately at the April Awards Afternoon
